We are, of course, all living busy lives, which is why many things can be left for the very last minute. This is why it’s not at all THAT surprising when we realize that hey, we’re invited to this special occasion shindig and we forgot to buy a gift for that special someone, or you’re coming back from an extended trip, and you forgot that you needed to buy people mementos from your so-called vacation (even if it wasn’t a vacation, really, and more of a business trip at a relatively exotic location). That being the case, the last minute gift ends up being our chance for salvation. And while it is indeed true that most gifts given at the last minute don’t bode well for the person who bought it (that is to say, some of them can end up being pretty bad), we cannot say that the last minute gift is a very bad idea; if you know what you’re doing, the last minute gift can actually be the most exceptional gift that the person in question has ever received.
